Better Touch Tool Tips

  1. Firstly, just clarifying the somewhat vague tooltip: Just using Touch of Death increases the health boost of Fortifying Brew by a flat 5%. So if you executed an enemy with Touch of Death once your Fortifying Brew will now give a 20% max health increase.
  2. Android doesn't have tool tips. It is a touch-based UI. Current touch sensors can't generally detect hovering in a way that tool tips would be useful. There's no concept of 'hovering' in a touch screen, but you could set a LongClickListener for your View, and have a Toast appear after a long press.

Don't overlook this one!
Firstly, just clarifying the somewhat vague tooltip: Just using Touch of Death increases the health boost of Fortifying Brew by a flat 5%. So if you executed an enemy with Touch of Death once your Fortifying Brew will now give a 20% max health increase.
What the tooltip doesn't say is that this both stacks and is saved between floors, meaning that every additional Touch of Death used adds that 5% additively. So, say you used Touch of Death 10 or so times after selecting this power, Fortifying Brew gives a whopping (15%+10*5%=) 65% increase in health!
Basically, with enough patience and/or cooldown powers you can rack up a pretty big (ridiculously so, even) boost to your max hp when using Fortifying Brew, in turn allowing Touch of Death to be used much earlier (and at full damage even against elites in Thorgast, for some reason).
For bonus stupidity, also select any additional Obleron Endurance powers you come across afterwards, to even further increase the thresholds you can use Touch of Death, up to just straight up oneshotting some floor six bosses.
'Touch of Death' indeed.

When i first saw this power, i thought it was very bad, however the more i play with it the better it gets. It even stacks with the 'Fatal flying Guillotine' which makes it stack 5 times as fast. (ToD hits 4 additional targets)

The Wowhead Client is a little application we use to keep our database up to date, and to provide you with some nifty extra functionality on the website!

It serves 2 main purposes:

  1. It maintains a WoW addon called the Wowhead Looter, which collects data as you play the game!
  2. It uploads the collected data to Wowhead in order to keep the database up-to-date!

You can also use it to keep track of your completed quests, recipes, mounts, companion pets, and titles!

Summary: The mouse (desktop computer) and the finger (touchscreen) each has unique strengths and weaknesses. Thus different UI designs are best for desktop vs mobile.

In the following table, green cells indicate the pointing device that is superior for each of the dimensions rated.

Suitable for mobile NoYes:

Ease of learning Fairly easyVirtually no learning time
Direct engagement with screen and 'fun' to use No: an indirect pointing deviceYes
Accessibility support YesNo

Some notes for the table:

  • Homing time is the time required to move the hands from one input device, such as the keyboard, to another, such as the mouse.
  • Accelerated movements are the ability to have a non-linear relationship between the speed of moving the pointing device and the on-screen pointer: moving the mouse fast makes the on-screen pointer move even faster. Conversely, moving the mouse slowly makes the pointer move very slowly, allowing for high-precision pointing.
  • When I say that there's virtually no learning time required to operate a touchscreen by pointing a finger, I am assuming that users have already acquired sufficient dexterity in using their hands and fingers. This does take babies a few years.

The main takeaway from the table is that there is no single winner. Mice and fingers each have their strong points.

What Is Better Touch Tool

When designing a user interface for a given platform, it's important to emphasize the strengths of the available input (and output) devices and also work alleviate their weaknesses.

For example, because the mouse has a hover state, tool tips and other roll-over effects can often be used to good effect on desktop computers. Similarly, contextual menus are easily supported by the two-button activation controls. These design elements are less natural on touchscreens.

The fact that the mouse and touch input have so different strengths is one of the main reasons to design different user interfaces for desktop websites and for mobile sites. (And also for desktop applications vs. mobile apps.)

Further arguments for two UIs are provided by the presence of a real keyboard on the desktop (making typing much faster and less error-prone) and the vast difference in screen sizes.
